Hello!

The BAFTA award winning ‘The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers’ arrives on DVD in the UK for the first time on the 9th of April 2012 courtesy of the good folks at Studio Canal.

So who, and what, are The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers?

Well they are three brothers Xan, Adi and Enk from the fictional Eastern European country of Réndøosîa, and they are death defying daredevils. In each episode the brothers arrive in a new setting and go about trying to entertain, thrill and wow, with ever more dangerous and crazy stunts.

So why should you be interested?

Well every so often a cartoon that is made by a children’s tv network, and aimed at kids, manages to find an audience beyond the weekday afternoon and weekend morning crowds. Over recent years shows like Spongebob Square Pants and Chowder have found that they are appealing to a section of young adults who are drawn in by it’s nihilistic and often subversive tone. The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers falls into this category.

The brothers speak in a crazy made up gibberish language and have a peculiarity and niceness to their actions. Often their tricks and acts are done to convey some sort of social message, but often the message gets lost in the craziness and you just find yourself lost in the absurdity of it all.

The show actually originated as a live action piece, written and performed by the eventual writers of the series Dan Chambers, Mark Huckerby and Nick Ostler. The trio then presented their idea of turning their act into a animation show to Pesky Studio and Studio B. The show was originally broadcast online and on the CBBC channel before being picked up by CITV in the UK, VRAK.TV in Canada, and later Cartoon Network who showed the show across the rest of Europe and in the zany cartoon loving supermarket of Asia.

So if you’re looking for something for the kids, that doesn’t make you want to pull out your own eyes every time they put it on, or if you like your juvenile, yet amazingly sweet cartoons, then ‘The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers’ is more than worth your time.

The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers is released on DVD 9th of April 2012 from Studio Canal RRP: £15.99 Best price found £10.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk
